Russian checkers is played on an 8x8 board. Men move diagonally forward one square and capture by jumping over opponent's pieces. Kings ("flying kings") move any number of squares diagonally in any direction. Captures are mandatory. A man that reaches the last row is promoted to a king immediately, even mid-capture sequence.
